PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: 30 Posts, Eligibility and Exam Guide
Stream-wise qualifications, dates, fee and selection stages from the official notification.

PFRDA has opened Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) Recruitment 2026 for 30 posts across four streams: General, Research, Actuary and Official Language. The official notification lists online applications from 3 September to 24 September 2026, with Phase I scheduled for 15 October and Phase II for 20 November. This evening guide is based on a direct check of the PFRDA recruitment page, its 32-page notification and the application portal on 7 September 2026. Use it to compare your profile with the stream-specific wording, dates, fee and selection rules; the notification and any later official clarification remain the authority for individual eligibility.
PFRDA Grade A 2026 at a glance
The opportunity is a regular Officer Grade A recruitment in the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority. It is unusually useful to assess as a single decision because the notification allows an applicant to choose up to two eligible streams, but requires a separate application and fee for each stream. The official notice also separates the common General stream from specialist routes for Research, Actuary and Official Language. That means a broad degree alone is not a shortcut: compare the exact qualification paragraph, stream count, age date, reservation category and document requirements before starting payment.

Stream-wise vacancies and qualification fit
The stream choice is the central PFRDA Grade A decision. General has the largest share of posts and accepts several academic or professional routes listed in the notice. Research, Actuary and Official Language are specialist streams with narrower wording. The table below is a practical comparison, not a substitute for reading the complete eligibility clauses, reservation table and certificate instructions in the notification.
| Stream | Posts | Qualification focus to compare |
|---|---|---|
| General | 25 | Master’s degree or two-year postgraduate diploma in any discipline; law, engineering and specified professional qualifications such as CA, CS, CMA or CFA are also listed. |
| Research | 2 | Master’s degree or postgraduate diploma in economics, commerce, business, finance, statistics, data science or another discipline specified in the notification. |
| Actuary | 2 | Graduation plus pass or exemption in all seven Core Principles subjects of the Institute of Actuaries of India. |
| Official Language | 1 | The notice sets language-specific postgraduate or translation qualifications; compare the Hindi, English and translation wording exactly before choosing this stream. |

Place your details beside the official requirements
AvsarIQ shows your saved profile next to stated requirements. It does not make a final eligibility decision.
Create or open your profileWhat each stream asks you to verify
For General, first check the level and duration of the postgraduate qualification or the listed professional degree. Research requires a subject match rather than simply any postgraduate credential, so the transcript, discipline name and notification wording matter. Actuary candidates should verify the Institute of Actuaries of India paper status for all seven Core Principles; a general finance background is not the same test. Official Language candidates should read the language and translation conditions, including the relationship between Hindi and English qualifications. In every case, preserve certificates and marksheets that show the exact qualification by the relevant cut-off and follow the notification if an equivalence question arises.
- Choose only streams whose qualification wording you can document from certificates, marksheets or professional records.
- The notification permits a maximum of two eligible streams; each chosen stream needs a separate application and fee.
- Computer literacy and working knowledge of applications such as word processing and spreadsheets are part of the practical profile expected for the role.
- Do not treat the General stream as an automatic fallback if your qualification does not match its stated level or professional alternatives.
- If your course title, language qualification or professional status is unusual, use the complete notification and any official clarification before payment.
Age, reservation, pay and posting
The upper age limit is 30 years as on 31 July 2026, subject to the relaxations and category conditions set out in the notification. The vacancy table shows 25 General posts, 2 Research posts, 2 Actuary posts and 1 Official Language post, for a total of 30; the notice also gives the applicable category and PwBD distribution. Check the certificate format, issue date and category wording before relying on any relaxation. The advertised pay scale begins at ₹62,500 and progresses through the stated increments to ₹1,26,100. Selected officers serve a two-year probation and may be posted in New Delhi, Mumbai or elsewhere in India according to PFRDA requirements.
| Item | Official notification detail |
|---|---|
| Age reference date | 31 July 2026; category relaxations apply only under the stated conditions. |
| Pay scale | ₹62,500–3,600 (4)–₹76,900–4,050 (7)–₹1,05,250–EB–₹4,050 (4)–₹1,21,450–4,650 (1)–₹1,26,100. |
| Probation | Two years. |
| Likely posting locations | New Delhi, Mumbai or anywhere in India, as required by PFRDA. |
| Vacancy total | 30 across General, Research, Actuary and Official Language streams. |
How the three-stage selection process works
PFRDA’s selection route has Phase I, Phase II and an interview. Phase I contains two papers, each carrying 100 marks. Phase II also has two 100-mark papers and is the major written-stage component. The notification says the final weight is 85% for Phase II and 15% for the interview, and candidates up to five times the number of vacancies may be called for interview, subject to the stated conditions. The interview therefore matters, but the Phase II preparation plan should carry most of the final-score strategy.
| Stage | What the notice indicates | Planning use |
|---|---|---|
| Phase I | Two papers of 100 marks each. | Use it as the first screening stage and plan broad, timed preparation. |
| Phase II | Two papers of 100 marks each. | This stage carries 85% of the final weight, so specialist and stream-relevant preparation deserves priority. |
| Interview | Shortlisting may extend to five times the vacancies; final weight is 15%. | Keep documents and stream-specific explanations ready if called. |
| Final assessment | Phase II weight 85% plus interview weight 15%. | Do not plan around interview performance alone; protect written-stage preparation time. |
- Read the common instructions and your chosen stream’s syllabus and qualification clause.
- Build a Phase I plan around both papers and the official examination schedule.
- Prepare Phase II material with the 85% final-weight rule in mind.
- Keep stream-specific academic or professional evidence organized before any interview call.
- Track PFRDA’s official page for admit-card, examination-centre and later selection notices.
Application steps and fee
Applications are online through the official IBPS-hosted PFRDA portal. The window shown on the portal is 3 September 2026 through 24 September 2026, with the registration or editing closure and fee-payment boundary on 24 September; the portal also shows 9 October as the print-application date. Complete registration, upload, fee payment and final submission in the sequence requested by the portal. Avoid waiting for the last evening because payment confirmation, document upload and a final print or save step can each require a separate check.
- Open the PFRDA Officer Grade A 2026 application portal from the official recruitment page or the direct official portal link.
- Read the instructions and decide which one or two streams you can document from the notification.
- Register with an active email address and mobile number that you can access through the application period.
- Enter personal, academic, category and professional details exactly as supported by your records.
- Upload the photograph, signature and other files in the required size and format.
- Review the stream selection and all preview fields before final submission.
- Pay the applicable fee separately for each selected stream and confirm that the transaction is recorded.
- Save or print the completed application and payment confirmation before the portal’s print boundary.
| Applicant category | Fee shown in notification | Important application rule |
|---|---|---|
| General, EWS and OBC | ₹1,000 including GST | The fee applies for each stream selected. |
| SC, ST, PwBD and ex-serviceman | Nil | The exemption still requires accurate category and supporting information. |
| Two-stream choice | Two separate applications and fees | A maximum of two eligible streams is allowed; do not assume one payment covers both. |
Documents to keep ready
- Date-of-birth proof and a clear calculation against 31 July 2026.
- Degree, postgraduate or professional certificates and marksheets for every stream selected.
- Actuary paper pass or exemption evidence if applying under the Actuary stream.
- Language and translation qualification records if applying under Official Language.
- Category, EWS, PwBD or ex-serviceman certificate in the form and validity required by the notice, where applicable.
- Recent photograph, signature and identity document in the portal’s stated file requirements.
- An active email address and mobile number for registration and later communication.
- Payment receipt and final application printout for each selected stream.
Final checks before submitting
A careful final review is more valuable than a rushed extra application. Match the stream in the form to the qualification evidence you intend to present. Check names, dates, category details, certificate numbers, uploaded files and payment status. Then compare the final preview with the notification’s two-stream and fee rules. The live opportunity record is open today, but a deadline can be affected by an official corrigendum or portal notice, so return to PFRDA’s page before submitting and retain the version of the application you actually completed.
- Is the selected stream’s qualification wording supported by your actual documents?
- Is your age calculated on 31 July 2026, with any relaxation supported by the required certificate?
- If selecting two streams, did you complete two applications and the required fee process for both?
- Does the uploaded photograph, signature and certificate set meet the portal’s format and size rules?
- Did the payment and final submission produce a confirmation or application number?
- Did you save the final application before the 9 October print boundary shown on the portal?
