ISRO Recruitment 2026 after 20 August: corrected 267 vacancies, age corrigendum and next steps

The official recruitment page gives 20 August 2026 as the last date for online submission, while the page's remarks still show an older portal-availability line ending on 16 August. Both dates are before this 21 August check. The practical conclusion is conservative: a new applicant should not rely on this article or the generic page label to start a late application. The article remains useful because the official record contains more than a deadline. The 11 August corrigendum changed the working vacancy total from 244 to 267, corrected important Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram rows, and identified one Department of Space Branch Secretariat vacancy in New Delhi. A second corrigendum dated 17 August corrected the wording for age relaxation for serving Central Government employees. The current ISRO page also lists 21 September 2026 as a tentative written test/CBT date. These are tracking facts, not a guarantee of eligibility, appointment or a final examination schedule.

The deadline update is not an attempt to infer a hidden extension. ISRO's page expressly records 20 August as the last date and links both the 11 August corrigendum and the 17 August Corrigendum No. 2. The same page keeps a generic Open label, and its remarks repeat an older statement that the linked portal would be active through 16 August. Applicants who already submitted should use their confirmation, receipt and registered contact details as the operational record.

The original advertisement's summary groups included 113 Assistants, 81 Junior Personal Assistants, 22 Upper Division Clerks, 10 Stenographers, 17 Assistant posts in autonomous institutions and one autonomous-institution JPA post. The 11 August corrigendum changes the Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram vacancy tables, changes the Bengaluru UDC row and identifies one UR vacancy for the Department of Space Branch Secretariat in New Delhi. Read together, the corrected record gives AvsarIQ's current working total of 267. That increase is not 23 unrestricted seats available to every applicant. Reservation, backlog, PwBD and post-and-zone rows remain part of the controlling documents. The useful post-deadline task is to retain the exact post number, zone, category row and submitted application details. A headline total cannot establish what a particular candidate applied for or whether the claim matches the notice.

The corrigenda do not replace the original qualification or selection framework. The notice describes graduation, marks or CGPA, course-duration, computer-proficiency, diploma, experience and English-stenography conditions by post family. Assistant and UDC applicants should read the exact graduation and computer clauses; JPA and Stenographer applicants should separately check the stated Commercial or Secretarial Practice diploma route, the relevant experience wording and the 60 words-per-minute English stenography requirement. The post number and zone can change which row is relevant. The 17 August corrigendum is narrower than a new eligibility policy. It changes the phrase describing serving government employees to serving Central Government employees in the age-relaxation list. The age reference remains 16 August 2026, with the notice's 28-year base and the category-specific relaxations where posts are reserved. Do not convert the correction into a personal eligibility decision; compare the official advertisement, corrigenda and your documents.

The current ISRO recruitment page lists a tentative written test/CBT date of 21 September 2026. That is a useful planning marker for candidates who completed the application, but it is not a call letter, centre allocation or guarantee that every applicant will be admitted. Keep checking the official page and use the eventual communication for reporting time, venue, identity documents and post-specific instructions. The same caution applies to the selection stages.
