PSSSB Group D Recruitment 2026: 1,401 posts reopened until 4 September

As checked against the current SSSB Punjab Group D vacancy page, the linked amendments record, the 24 August 2026 corrigendum, the original Advertisement No. 04 of 2026 and the page-linked Punjab e-services route on 3 September 2026, online applications are open again. The reopening runs from 25 August through 4 September 2026, and the fee must also be paid by 4 September. The official corrigendum records 1,401 Group-D Common Cadre posts received from Punjab Government departments. It also says that candidates who applied during the original February–March window do not need to apply again. This is therefore a reopening and vacancy-position clarification under Advertisement No. 04 of 2026, not a brand-new advertisement that resets every rule. The official vacancy page is the safest starting point: use its Apply Online link, then keep the corrigendum and original advertisement open while completing the form. The original notice controls the Matriculation and Punjabi-language requirement, the Level-1 pay scale, age rules, category documents, fees, written examination and document-verification process. The corrigendum controls what changed for this reopened window. Because the closing date is near and the form cannot be edited after submission under the original instructions, prepare the documents and payment details before logging in. Do not rely on a forwarded link or assume that a saved draft is a submitted application.

The original Group D advertisement was published on 24 February 2026. Its first application window ran from 27 February to 20 March, and its introductory text described vacancies that could be received from departments by 30 September. The 24 August corrigendum changes the action point for candidates who still need to apply: the online portal is reopened from 25 August through 4 September, and the fee deadline is 4 September. It expressly states that people who applied in the first window do not need to apply again. The corrigendum also withdraws the condition in paragraph 1(ii) and its note, as well as serial 7(viii), relating to demand letters received up to 30 September. It then records the 1,401 Group-D vacancies received from different Punjab Government departments in the attached Annexure-O. Read those changes together. The March dates are historical, while the August–September dates are the current action window. The new vacancy position in the corrigendum is the figure to use for this reopening. If you already have a submitted application from the first window, preserve its application and payment evidence instead of creating a duplicate. If you did not apply earlier, use the current Apply Online link from the SSSB page and follow the original form instructions.

The original SSSB advertisement states that the educational qualification for the Group D posts is Matriculation standard with Punjabi as one of the subjects from a recognised educational institution. It also reproduces exceptions in the service rules for a blind person, a riot or terrorist-affected person and a person appointed as a sweeper. Those exceptions are notice-specific; do not assume that another exemption applies without checking the governing rule and the form’s category options. The notice further reproduces the Punjab-language rule requiring a qualifying test equivalent to Matriculation standard, with at least 50 per cent marks. The Punjabi paper is qualifying in the selection scheme, so the marks do not build the main merit list but failure to reach the qualifying mark can prevent consideration. The requirement is more precise than a generic ‘10th pass’ headline: check the recognised certificate, the Punjabi subject record and any rule-based exception before submitting. The original notice also says that category and category code are important in the online form and cannot be changed later. Match the entry to the documents you can produce at counselling or document verification.

The age reference date in the original advertisement is 1 January 2026. General candidates have an upper limit of 37 years in the printed rule. The notice gives higher limits for Punjab SC and BC residents, government employees, Punjab resident persons with disabilities, widows, divorcees and certain other married women, while Ex-Servicemen are governed by the Punjab Recruitment of Ex-Servicemen Rules and the service-period adjustment described there. These are summaries, not an individual age decision. The Board’s category and certificate rules control at counselling. For reservation benefits, the original notice says the candidate must be a Punjab resident and produce a recent domicile or residence certificate; it says the certificate should not be more than five years old when presented at counselling. Category certificates for SC, BC, Ex-Servicemen, disability, sports, EWS or Freedom Fighter claims must match the Punjab Government instructions. A candidate using an age relaxation or reserved category should prepare the exact evidence before selecting the category code. A form entry that cannot be proved later can affect consideration even if the application was accepted online.

The original advertisement sets the fee at ₹1,000 for General, Freedom Fighter and Sports candidates; ₹250 for SC, BC and EWS candidates; ₹200 for Ex-Servicemen and dependents; and ₹500 for Physical Handicapped candidates. It states that the fee is not refundable. The reopened page gives the fee deadline as 4 September 2026. Pay through the official application route and keep the transaction reference, e-receipt and final submitted form. The original instructions say that an application is not accepted when the fee is not successfully received and that a payment failure means the form is not submitted. Do not treat a bank debit, a draft, or a browser confirmation without a final application record as proof of completion. Review the category code before payment because the original notice says the category cannot be changed at any stage. The fee amounts are taken from the original advertisement; if the live form displays a later official instruction, follow the Board’s latest notice and preserve evidence of the final transaction.

Selection under the original advertisement is through an objective multiple-choice written examination followed by document verification or counselling. Part A is the Matriculation-level Punjabi language paper and is qualifying: the notice requires at least 50 per cent. Part B is used for the merit list and includes negative marking. The printed rule gives one mark for each question and deducts one-fourth mark for each incorrect answer. The common merit list is based on Part B marks, not the qualifying Punjabi score. The Board decides how many candidates are called for counselling or verification. A candidate is not entitled to recommendation merely by submitting an application, appearing in the paper or appearing in the merit list. Qualifications, age, category and other conditions must still be proved. The tie-break rule in the notice first considers the older candidate by date of birth and then the percentage in the required educational qualification if the age is also equal. Admit cards, the syllabus, exam information, results and later recruitment notices are to be uploaded on the SSSB website; the Board says it will not send every update individually. Monitor the official page until the process ends.

Before the 4 September cutoff, compare the application preview with the documents rather than correcting details later. The original instructions say that the photograph or live photo and signature are required, followed by uploads of the Matriculation certificate, educational qualification certificate and other required documents. They also say that an application cannot be edited after submission. Check spelling of the name, parent or guardian details, date of birth, email address, mobile number, category and category code. If a reservation or age relaxation is claimed, keep the current Punjab certificate that supports it. If you are a government employee using the stated relaxation, note the NOC instruction. If you applied earlier, do not create a second form merely because the page is open again; use the earlier application record and the corrigendum’s no-reapply instruction. For a new application, do not stop at Save Draft: the Board’s instructions require payment and final submission, and an unpaid or failed transaction leaves the form incomplete. Store copies outside the browser session so a later login or portal delay does not erase your evidence.
