BEML Apprenticeship 2026: 1,346 Slots, Eligibility and Application Guide
Registration closes on 8 September at 11 PM; compare the four Karnataka complexes, degree, diploma and ITI routes, stipend bands, NAPS/NATS steps and merit selection.

BEML Limited, a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has opened a one-year apprenticeship engagement under Advertisement L&D/01/2026. The official notice lists 1,346 provisional training slots across the Bangalore, Mysore, KGF and Palakkad complexes in Karnataka. Applications run from 18 August 2026 through 8 September 2026 at 11:00 PM. The notice covers four broad routes—four-year technical graduates, three-year general graduates, three-year engineering diplomas and full-time ITI trades—with different stipend bands and trade mappings. This guide turns the official 10-page notice into a practical comparison of locations, qualification timing, NAPS/NATS registration, documents, merit shortlisting and the one-year training terms. It is not an individual eligibility verdict; compare your records with the exact trade and location row before submitting.

The live BEML Apprentice Vacancy Notice page showed L&D/01/2026 as Registration Open during the direct check on 5 September 2026. The linked AvsarIQ opportunity record was refreshed after that check and remains open with 1,346 vacancies and an 8 September closing date. Because the notice prints a 23:00 cutoff, plan for the form and portal profile to be complete before the final evening rather than treating the closing date as a full extra day.
How the 1,346 slots are distributed
| BEML complex | Location | Total slots | Selected examples from the notice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bangalore Complex | Karnataka | 400 | Fitter 123, Mechanical/Automobile 51, Electrician 45, Welder 36 |
| Mysore Complex | Karnataka | 227 | Fitter 56, Electrician 23, Welder 21, Turner 13 |
| KGF Complex | Karnataka | 608 | Fitter 135, Turner 95, Welder 85, Electrician 50, Machinist 55 |
| Palakkad Complex | Karnataka | 111 | Mechanical/Automobile 12, Fitter 18, Electrician 12, Welder 6 |
The four complex totals add up to 1,346. The detailed notice then breaks each complex into degree, diploma and trade rows with SC, ST, OBC (NCL) and UR columns. KGF has the largest provisional allocation at 608, followed by Bangalore at 400, Mysore at 227 and Palakkad at 111. Use the detailed PDF row for the exact trade and location you intend to choose: a total for a complex is not a promise that every trade is offered there.
Qualification routes and stipend bands
Profile comparison
Place your details beside the official requirements
AvsarIQ shows your saved profile next to stated requirements. It does not make a final eligibility decision.
Create or open your profile| Route | Qualification examples | Monthly stipend stated |
|---|---|---|
| Graduate technical | Four-year full-time engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Automobile, Information Science, E&T, AI and ML or Aeronautical fields | ₹12,300 |
| Graduate general | Three-year full-time B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA or BBA (HR) | ₹12,300 |
| Diploma | Three-year full-time diploma in Electrical/Electronics, Civil, Computer Science, Electronics/Communication, Automobile, Instrumentation or Mechanical Engineering | ₹10,900 |
| ITI trade | Full-time one- or two-year ITI in trades such as Fitter, Welder, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, COPA, Mechanic Diesel, Carpenter, Tool and Die Making and Sheet Metal Worker | ₹9,600 or ₹10,560 depending on trade |
The qualification must be from a recognised institute or university and must be a full-time regular course. The notice excludes part-time, correspondence, distance and online qualifications for this engagement. Trade and subject mapping matters: the PDF has separate rows for technical graduates, general graduates, engineering diplomas and ITI trades, so a degree title or ITI trade that looks broadly related should still be compared against the named row.
Eligibility timing and the checks that can stop an application
| Check | What the BEML notice says |
|---|---|
| Result date | The final examination result must have been declared within three years from the 8 September 2026 closing date |
| Age floor | The applicant must have completed 17 years at the time of application |
| Result status | Applicants awaiting final results are not accepted under the notice |
| Earlier apprenticeship | A person who has undergone or is undergoing apprenticeship training in any organisation for any duration is not accepted |
| Course mode | The required degree, diploma or certificate must be full-time and regular from a recognised institute or university |
| Citizenship | The general section states that applicants must be Indian citizens |
| Marks and specialisation | Final or consolidated marks and the required area of specialisation should be identifiable in the documents |
If the final mark sheet shows CGPA instead of a percentage, the notice asks for a percentage-conversion letter from the institute or university. If the required specialisation is not printed on the degree or diploma certificate, it asks for a supporting letter from the college, institute or university. If the result declaration date is absent from the mark sheet, keep a certificate or other supporting document showing that date. These are document-matching rules, not a reason to infer that a broad branch automatically fits every trade row.
NAPS, NATS and the BEML application sequence
- Choose the exact complex, trade and qualification route from Advertisement L&D/01/2026 before creating a profile.
- For ITI trades, register as a candidate on NAPS at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in; for degree or engineering diploma routes, use NATS at nats.education.gov.in.
- Complete or update the NAPS/NATS profile and upload the required documents so that the registration or enrolment number is available.
- Open the official BEML recruitment portal, choose Apprentices, and use the Login/Registration route for L&D/01/2026.
- Enter the NAPS or NATS registration/enrolment number and the same identity details used in the supporting records.
- Select one permitted trade and location combination, complete the online form and upload readable documents.
- Review the final form before the 8 September 2026 11:00 PM cutoff and save the submitted record or acknowledgement.
BEML's notice says the application must be submitted online through the official BEML website and that no other mode will be accepted. It also says there is no application fee, written examination or interview. That does not remove the need for NAPS/NATS registration: the apprenticeship portal record and the BEML form are separate steps for the relevant qualification route. Keep the registration number, application details and document files together before starting the final submission.
Documents, Aadhaar-seeded bank account and DBT checks
| Document or record | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| NAPS/NATS registration or enrolment number | The relevant apprenticeship profile must be 100% completed or updated |
| Education certificates and mark sheets | Upload clear, readable proof of the qualification and final marks |
| Matriculation certificate | Proof of age and identity cross-check |
| SC/ST or latest OBC (NCL) certificate | Use the Government of India format where the category claim applies |
| Cancelled cheque or first page of passbook | Show an active Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account |
| Recent colour photograph and signature | Keep the image files clear for the online form |
| Government identity document | Examples in the notice include Aadhaar, passport, driving licence and PAN |
The notice requires an active Aadhaar-seeded bank account enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer. It also says the applicant's name and date of birth should be the same in the Matriculation certificate, Aadhaar card and bank account.
Shortlisting, merit and document verification
| Stage | Official process |
|---|---|
| Screening | Applications are screened against the qualification and eligibility conditions for the relevant location and trade |
| Merit preparation | A category-wise merit list is prepared for each trade and location using marks in the final qualifying examination |
| Document verification call | Candidates may be called in a ratio of 1:5 against the training slots; communication is through registered email |
| Verification outcome | The provisional merit list contains candidates found suitable after document verification |
| Offer and waiting panel | Offers are subject to training-slot availability; other eligible candidates may enter a reserved waiting panel maintained at five times the slot strength |
| Engagement formalities | The selected candidate accepts a tri-partite apprenticeship contract on NATS or NAPS and submits the prescribed medical and police-verification certificates |
There is no written test or interview to prepare for under this notice. Selection is still competitive because merit is prepared by category, trade and location, and the number of people called for document verification is tied to the notified slot strength. The notice says there is no TA/DA for document verification. Keep the registered email active after the deadline because shortlist or verification communication is expected through that route.
One-year apprenticeship terms to understand
- The total apprenticeship tenure is one year from the date of joining, with no further extension under the notice.
- Monthly stipend is subject to satisfactory performance and attendance; poor performance or unauthorised absence can affect continuation.
- Apprentices may not enrol in or undergo a regular course or job during the apprenticeship tenure.
- The notice requires periodic evaluation and a weekly work diary for submission to the reporting officer.
- A completed apprenticeship does not create a claim for regular employment with BEML.
- Selected candidates must follow BEML's confidentiality and code-of-conduct requirements.
